Report: Redskins interested in WR Kenny Britt

The Washington Redskins fell short of their ultimate goal of reaching the playoffs following a disheartening Week 17 loss to the division-rival New York Giants.

They now enter an offseason filled with question marks. Will the team retain quarterback Kirk Cousins? Who is going to be Washington’s starting running back? How will the ever-evolving wide receiver situation play out?

We already know that DeSean Jackson has expressed interest in returning to Philadelphia. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the impending free agent depart one way or another. Fellow veteran receiver Pierre Garcon is also slated to become a free agent. On top of this, 2016 first-round pick Josh Doctson played in a grand total of two games.

Needless to say, the team might be in the market for a free agent receiver or two.

According to, Los Angeles Rams receiver Kenny Britt is one of the receivers Washington will likely go after.

Britt, 28, will likely be one of the top receivers on the free agent market when the new league year starts in March. Despite having to deal with one of the most unattainable quarterback situations in the NFL, Britt put up 68 receptions for over 1,000 yards for the Rams this past regular season.

He’s the big-bodied receiver that Washington will likely be looking for with Jamison Crowder and the aforementioned Josh Doctson set to take on larger roles next season.
