With Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz still out with an unspecified illness, Ninjas in Pyjamas could be ready to add Jack “Jackinho” Strom Mattsson to their roster on a short-term deal, Dexerto.com reported Thursday.

After dev1ce shot down multiple reports last month that he was interested in rejoining his former team, Astralis, he indicated a desire to step away for an undetermined amount of time to work on his mental health.

With Jackinho currently on NiP’s academy team, his move to the main squad could come as early as Feb. 15 for IEM Katowice Play-In, according to the report. Jackinho had a 10-month run with Fnatic last year before he was replaced by Owen “smooya” Butterfield.

NiP will be without dev1ce at least through the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022, which begins Jan. 28. NiP opens Group A play that day against BIG. Love “phzy” Smidebrant is expected to fill in for dev1ce at that event.
