The New York Mets acquired reliever Vinny Nittoli from the Chicago Cubs on Friday, MLB.com reported.

The return for the 32-year-old right-hander is not yet known.

Nittoli has spent this season with Triple-A Iowa, going 1-1 with a 3.48 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 16 games.

He opted out of his minor league deal with the Cubs on Thursday.
