Report: Kings sign G George Hill to three-year, $57 million deal

George Hill has signed with the Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings have agreed to a three-year, $57 million contract with free agent guard George Hill. This comes from Shams Charania of The Vertical and is a clear indication Sacramento wants to be competitive over the short term despite going with a youth movement.

Hill, 31, had a career-best season in Utah in 2016-17. He averaged 16.9 points and 4.2 assists while shooting at a 40 percent clip from three-point range.

It remains to be seen exactly how Hill will be utilized in Sacramento. The team selected fellow point guard De’Aaron Fox No. 5 overall in last month’s draft. It also has shooting guard Buddy Hield on the roster. He was acquired back in February in the DeMarcus Cousins trade.

Hill is one of the most underrated players in the entire Association. His veteran presence should help an otherwise young Kings squad improve leaps and bounds in 2017-18.
