Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Clayton Tune is expected to make his first NFL start on Sunday against the host Cleveland Browns, ESPN reported.

Arizona is in need of a starting quarterback after trading Joshua Dobbs and a seventh-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday for a sixth-round pick in the same draft.

Kyler Murray, the team’s starting quarterback since he was selected with the top overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. He is working his way back from a torn ACL sustained on Dec. 12.

Tune, 24, was selected by the Cardinals in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Houston. He completed his lone pass attempt of the season — on a fake punt — for four yards in Arizona’s 20-10 loss at the Seattle Seahawks on Oct. 22.

Murray, 26, has started all 57 games he has played over four seasons, completing 66.8 percent of his passes for 13,848 yards, 84 touchdowns and 41 interceptions. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2020 and 2021, while guiding Arizona into the playoffs following the 2021 season.

The Cardinals (1-7) will look to snap a five-game losing skid in Sunday’s clash versus the Browns (4-3).
