The Buffalo Bills are interested in signing tight end Rob Gronkowski, if the four-time Super Bowl champion decides to play in 2022, The Athletic reported Wednesday.

The Bills’ flirtation with the five-time Pro Bowler didn’t end when he opted to sign with Tampa Bay as a free agent last March, per the report.

Now, Gronkowski is a free agent again but hasn’t yet decided whether to retire or return.

The Bills have visions of pairing up the Buffalo-area native with TE Dalton Knox, who’s coming off a breakout season, along with a receiver corps led by Stefon Diggs.

Gronkowski caught 55 passes for 802 yards and six touchdowns in 2021 despite missing five games to injury. In two seasons at Tampa, Gronkowski caught 100 passes for 1,425 yards and 13 touchdowns in 28 games.

In 143 career games, Gronkowski has 621 receptions for 9,286 yards with 92 touchdowns. He has been selected as a first-team All-Pro four times and ranks third all-time in TDs among tight ends.
