Ravens defensive coordinator lofts praise Dak Prescott’s way

The praise for Dallas Cowboys rookie quarterback Dak Prescott continues to keep pouring in.

After Tony Romo threw his support Prescott’s way in determining the rookie is the Cowboys’s starting quarterback, yet another high profile individual within the NFL is throwing praise the quarterback’s way.

“I don’t know after nine games if he’s considered a rookie anymore,” Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Dean Pees said Thursday, via NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.” You could say he’s a first-year player. I look at him as another excellent quarterback that’s an excellent, excellent talent. If this was going to be his first game starting, I’d say OK we have a rookie quarterback going in. But not when you’re 8-1 and he’s taken them all the way and they’ve demolished some people.”

Wow. That is certainly quite the compliment. Pees’ Ravens travel to Dallas to witness Prescott in action this Sunday. The Ravens’ defense will be the toughest that Prescott and his offense have yet to tangle with this season.

Overall, Baltimore’s defense ranks No. 1 aainst the run, yielding just over 70 yards per game. It also ranks in the top five against the pass.

Over the course of his first nine games, Prescott has compiled 18 total touchdowns compared to two interceptions for an absurd 106.2 quarterback rating.

The heavily favored Cowboys will look to notch their ninth consecutive win against a Ravens squad that needs a win to maintain its status atop the AFC North.
