The rain just isn’t letting it up at Daytona International Speedway and it has once again forced an adjustment of the schedule for Daytona 500 weekend.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series race, which was postponed to Monday at 11 a.m. has been postponed again to after the Daytona 500, and is scheduled for roughly 9 p.m. The Daytona 500 is tentatively scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and will air on FS1.

It’s such an unfortunate deal because Xfinity Series teams had already arrived on the property on Monday morning with the expectations that they were set to race and would be able to leave before the Daytona 500 started.

It’s now an incredibly long day to end an incredibly long weekend for everyone involved in the sport.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series race will still be broadcast on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. The DAYTONA 500 will be live on FOX, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

On the bright side, once the rain and perpetual mist ends, it’s expected to remain dry throughout the afternoon and evening hours. It’s just a matter of getting the track dry once it does and that extended showers did not allow for a timely start to what’s been christened the Daytona 800.
