Duke quarterback Daniel Jones has informed head coach David Cutcliffe he is declaring for the 2019 NFL Draft, Stephen Wiseman of The Herald-Sun reported Monday.
Jones is coveted around NFL draft circles and has the potential to become the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, if the Arizona Cardinals are open for business anyway. At the least, he’s likely going to be heavily in the mix for a top-five selection.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound junior offers an intriguing blend of skills. He has an outstanding arm, is highly mobile and can take a game over as the situation demands it.
This past season with the Blue Devils, Jones completed 60.5 percent of his passes for 2,674 yards with 22 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also tallied 319 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
