The Philadelphia Flyers will return to the ice on Thursday for the first time since Feb. 7, however they are expected to be without six players for their outdoor game this weekend because of NHL COVID-19 protocols.

Captain Claude Giroux, fellow forwards Travis Konecny, Oskar Lindblom, Jakub Voracek and Scott Laughton as well as defenseman Justin Braun will not travel with the team to face the Boston Bruins at Stateline, Nev.

“No one on that list is coming,” Flyers coach Alain Vigneault said Thursday.

Forwards Maksim Sushko, David Kase and Andy Andreoff are expected to make their respective season debuts for the Flyers (8-3-2, 18 points) on Thursday against the visiting New York Rangers. The game is Philadelphia’s first since it skated to a 7-4 victory over the Washington Capitals.

The Flyers’ next four games were postponed while the team dealt with COVID protocols.
