Orlando City defender Ruan signs two-year contract

Orlando City SC signed defender Ruan on Thursday to a two-year contract through the 2023 season.

Financial terms were not disclosed, however the team revealed it holds an option for a third year on the deal.

“We are very happy to have Ruan continue as a member of our Club,” said Luiz Muzzi, Orlando City’s EVP of soccer operations. “In his time here, Ruan has continued to solidify his importance amongst our roster and showcased his abilities both on the defense and in the attack. We are excited to see all that he will accomplish as he continues to grow with us.”

Ruan, 26, recorded two goals and four assists in 24 matches (21 starts) last season. The Brazilian has two goals and 13 assists in 70 appearances (62 starts).
