NFL preseason schedule released

The NFL released its preseason schedule on Thursday. It’s not as important as the regular season schedule release that follows, but there are some rather interesting games this upcoming summer.

The exhibition slate kicks off with the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts doing battle at the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio.

With former Packers quarterback Brett Favre as well as retired Colts head coach Tony Dungy and wide receiver Marvin Harrison set to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, this makes perfect sense.

It is, however, the first real preseason game that is interesting. The Dallas Cowboys will take to Southern California in the Los Angeles Rams’ first game since returning to the city it had long called home.

That game will air on ESPN and be played at the Los Angeles Coliseum, the temporary home of the Rams.

Among the other somewhat big preseason games, the San Francisco 49ers will travel to Denver to take on the Broncos in the second week of action. Will Colin Kaepernick be wearing the red and gold for that game or will he be cheered on by his home team? We will have an answer to this question in relatively short order.

The third week of the preseason is usually most telling. It’s when teams play their starters well into the second half.

In this, matchups between the Carolina Panthers and New England PatriotsĀ as well as the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks should be plenty sexy.
