Pretty much as expected, NASCAR has postponed Saturday’s Xfinity Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway to Monday at 11:00 a.m. ET.

The race was originally scheduled for Saturday night, moved to Saturday afternoon due to the threat of rain, but ultimately couldn’t overcome the impending deluge that is expected to remain in the area through late Sunday night.

It also has the Daytona 500 under threat on Sunday and it is becoming increasingly likely that all 800 miles for both NASCAR races could be contested on Monday.

For the Xfinity Series race, the broadcast remains on FS1, MRN Radio affiliates and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. In person, parking lots will open at 8 a.m. and the infield fan zone opens at 10 a.m. All tickets for Saturday will be honored on Monday.

Stay tuned for Daytona 500 updates.
