This is where we are in 2018. Rumors will swirl in an instant based solely on someone’s social media activity. If an NBA player tweets something curious, does it mean he’s being moved?
In a summer that’s been filled with ridiculous rumors and innuendo, there’s potentially something concrete happening in Toronto.
Early on Thursday, oddsmakers made the Toronto Raptors the overwhelming favorites to land San Antonio Spurs superstar forward Kawhi Leonard in a trade. It seemingly came out of left field.
Though, this recent piece of information surrounding Raptors All-Star guard DeMar DeRozan’s Instagram account could lead to further speculation that Leonard will indeed head up north.
As pointed out by ESPN’s Rachel Nichols, DeRozan completely wiped his IG account of any photos and posts.
So, um, DeMar DeRozan has completely wiped his Instagram account.
So, um, an offshore betting site now has the Raptors as the favorites to trade for Kawhi Leonard.

Maybe, DeRozan is completely hitting the reset button on social media. It’s good to do every once in a while. Then again, this will certainly lead to speculation that he’s going to be moved to San Antonio as part of a package for Leonard.
Remember, it was noted earlier in the offseason that no one on the Raptors’ roster is safe following an embarrassing second-round sweep at the hands of the Cleveland Cavalaiers. If the Raptors are going to make a play for Leonard, DeRozan would be the biggest piece to offer up to San Antonio.
It’s just some food for thought.
