Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley signed a record-breaking contract extension on Tuesday. Gurley’s extension drew a number of reactions. But perhaps none were more notable than the one coming from Pittsburgh Steelers running back, Le’Veon Bell.
Bell’s reaction is notable, of course, because of his own situation. He was unable to reach an extension agreement with the Steelers. While he’s likely to play in Week 1, it’s highly possible that 2018 will be his final season in Pittsburgh.
Certainly, Gurley’s extension isn’t going to help Bell get a new contract now. But one would have to figure that it will eventually help Bell get what he’s looking for.
