Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller is week-to-week with knee injury he sustained in last week’s Thanksgiving Day game.

An MRI last Friday revealed that Waller was spared serious injury, suffering a strained IT band.

Raiders interim head coach Rich Bisaccia said Monday that Waller improved over the weekend and will be evaluated ahead of this week’s game against Washington.

Also, defensive end Carl Nassib (knee) is week-to-week with a knee injury. But Bisaccia said linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski (ankle) could return this week.

Waller, 29, did not play in the second half of Thursday’s 36-33 overtime victory against the host Dallas Cowboys. He grabbed his knee after being tackled following a 21-yard catch with 12:33 left in the first half.

Waller rode the bike on the sidelines and was examined at halftime before being ruled out by the team just after the start of the third quarter.

The former sixth-round draft pick by the Baltimore Ravens in 2015 had two receptions for 33 yards against the Cowboys. The 2020 Pro Bowl selection ranks second on Las Vegas (6-5) in receptions (53) and receiving yards (643) behind wide receiver Hunter Renfrow. Waller has two touchdowns in 10 games.
