Las Vegas casinos not refunding money following Dustin Johnson withdrawal

If you put money down on Dustin Johnson to win the 2017 Masters and did so at a Las Vegas casino, then chances are you aren’t getting your money back.

Following a significant tumble down a staircase at Augusta Wednesday evening, Johnson was forced to withdraw from the 2017 Masters. A heavy favorite to win the major championship, plenty of money was thrown down as people expected that very outcome.

However, as reported by Darren Rovell of ESPN, his withdrawal isn’t grounds for casinos to legally be forced to refund money to bettors.

It’s going to be interesting to see if anything else develops on this front. We know this news won’t sit well with people who’ve now lost money because of a freak accident.
