Golf influencers invited to qualifier for new PGA event

Golf social media influencers were invited to compete with home-state favorites in a qualifying tournament that will award a place in the inaugural Myrtle Beach (S.C.) Classic.

Sixteen players will participate in The Q at Myrtle Beach, an 18-hole event on March 4 at TPC Myrtle Beach. The winner will grab a place in the PGA Tour event scheduled for May 6-12 at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club.

Half of the field for The Q have major social media followings (stats according to the tournament organizers):

–George Bryan — A former South Carolina All-American with 400,000-plus total subscribers and followers on YouTube, Instagram and Tik Tok.

–Peter Finch — A British-based golfer with 1.25 million subscribers and followers on YouTube, Instagram, Tik Tok and X.

–Grant Horvat — An ex-Palm Beach Atlantic University golfer with more than 1.35 million combined subscribers and followers on YouTube, Instagram and Tik Tok.

–Luke Kwon — A former University of Oklahoma golfer with nearly 400,000 combined subscribers and followers on YouTube, Instagram and Tik Tok.

–Micah Morris — A Texas-based golfer with 1 million-plus subscribers and followers on YouTube, Instagram and Tik Tok.

–Dan Rapaport — A Northwestern alumnus with 250,000-plus combined subscribers and followers on X, Instagram and Tik Tok.

–Nick “Fat Perez” Stubbe — A member of the Bob Does Sports group with 1 million-plus combined subscribers and followers on YouTube, Instagram and Tik Tok.

–Mason Nut or Cole Lantz of BustaJack — The duo, with 350,000-plus combined subscribers and followers on YouTube, Instagram and Tik Tok, will have a head-to-head duel to determine which of the two gets in The Q.

Another place in the Myrtle Beach Classic will be awarded to a local PGA professional after a separate qualifying event on Monday.
