Giants release starting LB Alec Ogletree, backup DL Kareem Martin

The New York Giants made a couple of roster moves Wednesday, releasing linebacker Alec Ogletree and defensive end Kareem Martin.

Martin appeared in five games last year and tallied just three tackles. During the 2018 campaign, he started seven games, however, and has started 21 games in his six-year career.

Ogletree is the more notable name here. He started 13 games last season for the Giants and was a player the team traded for back in 2018. He had a cap hit of $11.75 million this year with a dead cap hit of $3.5 million, though, which means the Giants will save $8.25 million by releasing him.
