NBA DraftKings fantasy basketball picks for March 7

These are the absolute best fantasy picks when it comes to DraftKings contests for today. They do take into account overall salary. But these players are those you can simply bank on to have huge evenings.

Best fantasy picks, March 7

Guard

  • Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves ($8,800): Edwards is set to take on an Indiana Pacers team that ranks 28th in the league in points against (122.0 PPG). It is also in the middle of the pack in DraftKings fantasy points against. Those are two indicators of success. It will also help from a fantasy basketball perspective that Karl-Anthony Towns has already been ruled out for this game.
  • De’Aaron Fox, Sacramento Kings ($8,500): Fox returned from a two-game absence to record 20 points and 10 assists Monday night against the Chicago Bulls. He then dropped 44 points in Wednesday night’s win over the Lakers. This bodes well when it comes to our fantasy basketball picks for March 7. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s taking on a Spurs team that ranks dead last in stopping opposing point guards. San Antonio is also going to be without star rookie Victor Wembanyama and his near four blocks per game.
  • Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors ($9,000): Curry and his Warriors rebounded from Sunday’s brutal blowout loss to Boston by defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 125-90 on Wednesday. Curry dropped a game high 29 points to go with eight rebounds and five assists. With Chicago coming into the second half of a road back-to-back, we’re looking for a big performance from Curry Thursday night. Hence, why he’s one of our top fantasy picks today.

Forward

  • DeMar DeRozan, Chicago Bulls ($8,200): DeRozan has been absolutely brilliant of late, averaging 26.5 PPG, 4.3 RPG and 5.0 APG on 50% shooting over the past 11 games. He now has a plus-level DraftKings matchup against the Warriors on Thursday. Golden State ranks 20th in the league in fantasy points allowed to this position. Andrew Wiggins is returning from a lengthy absence. Look for DeRozan to take advantage of that.
  • Kevin Durant, Phoenix Suns ($9,700): Despite the Suns’ inability to close out games recently, KD continues to be on another level statistically. He’s averaging 26.4 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 5.1 APG and 1.6 BPG over the past 22 games. Talk about filling up the stat sheet. Don’t look for that to change Thursday against a Toronto Raptors squad that is 18th in the league in fantasy basketball points allowed against KD’s position.
  • Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics ($9,500): After a brilliant performance against Golden State over the weekend, Tatum was held to 8-of-21 shooting as his Celtics blew a huge lead to the Cavaliers on Tuesday. Don’t look for a repeat performance of that. He’s one of our fantasy basketball picks for a reason despite taking on a Nuggets team that’s third-best in stopping players at his position. Tatum rarely has back-to-back bad games.

Center

Fantasy basketball picks: Nikola Jokic

  • Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets ($11,400): Speaking of a frustrating performance. That’s what Jokic had on Tuesday against the aforementioned Suns. He shot 8-of-18 from the field and committed seven turnovers. As with other greats in the game today, betting on a repeat bad performance shouldn’t be in the cards. With Towns and Victor Wembanyama out on Thursday, it’s also going to be slim pickings at center in DraftKings contests.

If you want to find some value in the rest of your lineup after exhausting top-end money on star power, here is a look at a few options.

Guard

  • Terry Rozier, Miami Heat ($6,600): Tyler Herro has already been ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks. Rozier also has the pleasure of going up against a Mavericks defense that has yielded 137-plus points in two of the past three games. The math is not hard here.

Forward

  • Jonathan Kuminga, Golden State Warriors ($6,600): Even prior to Wednesday’s 20-point outing against Milwaukee, Kuminga was averaging exactly 20 points to go with 5.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists on 56% shooting from the field in his previous 23 outings. He’s been consistent with at least 20 points 14 times in his previous 24 games. He’s one of our top fantasy picks of value for March 7.

Center

  • Nikola Vučević, Chicago Bulls ($8,300): This big man is going up against a Warriors squad that ranks 22nd in the NBA stopping fantasy centers. Golden State specifically has a hard time with traditional bigs who can expand out to the perimeter. That bodes well for Vučević in a slate that’s slim at center.
