Chip Kelly credits the Pope for Eagles winning
The Philadelphia Eagles finally earned their first win over the New York Jets, 24-27. So, what did head coach Chip Kelly think about that?
“That the Pope helped us? That’s one hundred percent true,” Kelly said Monday on the 94WIP Morning Show (h/t thacover2.com). “And if you were watched what we did in the second half, we were trying to get the game over quicker so we can come back and see him.”
For those who watched Philadelphia beat the Jets at MetLife Stadium, we’re pretty confident that we didn’t witness the Pope running around calling signals or tackling defenders for the Eagles. Kelly must really see it as a true miracle that the Eagles won and thinks it had nothing to do with his team actually outperforming the Jets.
We wonder if Kelly made the trip back on time to actually meet up with the Pope.
