NFL free agency has had a frenetic pace to it, with hundreds of players signing new contracts this offseason. Throughout all the chaos, the Denver Broncos have stayed pretty quiet.
Sure, we’ve seen them move on from Russell Wilson, but general manager George Paton has yet to find the Broncos’ starting QB replacement. The 2024 NFL Draft will present another opportunity to solve this need.
Aside from their inevitable quarterback change, the Broncos haven’t done much in free agency, signing tackle Matt Peart, defensive lineman Malcolm Roach, linebacker Cody Barton, and safety Brandon Jones. Of all these signing, Jones received the largest commitment, inking a three-year, $20 million contract.
One other area that has seen some roster turnover is at wide receiver. Again, Jerry Jeudy was traded to the Cleveland Browns, and he quickly signed a three-year, $52 million extension, but the Broncos haven’t added anyone to replace their former first-round pick who never lived up to expectations in Denver. Until now.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Broncos have signed former Detroit Lions receiver Josh Reynolds to a two-year contract that is worth up to $14 million in total.

Reynolds’ presence won’t impact Denver’s draft plans too much, but he does add a reliable receiver to Sean Payton’s offense as a complementary piece. Now 29 years old, Reynolds likely is what he is at this point, with very little, if any room for growth.
Yet, he’s been productive in multiple NFL offenses, including the Rams, and now he’ll look to do the same with the Broncos. At this stage in free agency, landing Reynolds for $7 million per season is about as good as any team can do.
