The Dallas Cowboys are releasing defensive tackle Antwaun Woods, who just two weeks ago signed a restricted free-agent tender with the team, multiple outlets reported Wednesday.

Woods, who entered the NFL in 2016 as an undrafted free agent with the Titans, joined the Cowboys after Tennessee waived him in May 2018.

The 6-foot-1, 318-pound Woods appeared in 39 games (32 starts) with the Cowboys, registering 80 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks.

Last July, he signed an exclusive rights free agent tender for the 2020 season for $750,000 and hoped for a bigger payday in 2021.

The Cowboys signed him to a non-guaranteed, one-year contract worth $2.13 million on April 22, but Woods, 28, became expendable when the Cowboys selected a pair of defensive linemen — Osa Odighizuwa and Quinton Bohanna – in last week’s draft.
