Former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Cris Carter chimed in on the whole Adrian Peterson child abuse controversy with an emotional statement on ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown.
The following video will give you chills as Carter talks about his mother, who single-handedly raised seven children, and how she was wrong to lay a hand on her children.
In short, here are some of Carter’s comments.
The only thing I’m proud about is the team that I played for. They did the right thing. Take him off the field…Take him off the doggone field. Because you know what? As a man, that’s the only thing we really respect. We don’t respect no women, we don’t respect no kids. The only thing Roger and them do—take him off the field, because they respect that.
No matter your opinion on the Peterson situation, you can feel the passion in Carter’s words. This situation impacted him more as a father than a NFL analyst and former player. It’s a passionate plea that shouldn’t go unnoticed in the grand scheme of things.
