Colts Taking the “David vs. Goliath Approach” Against New England

Mike Adams

The last time the Indianapolis Colts faced the New England Patriots their defense took a spanking in a blowout loss, 42-20.

Speaking up on the “demoralizing” loss, and how the Colts are going to approach the Patriots’ explosive offense, safety Mike Adams shared these comments (via NFL.com).

Absolutely just demoralizing. It was one of those feelings where you know they just out-toughed us. They played hard; they beat us. They beat us pretty good.

I guess it’s the David vs. Goliath approach,” he said. Whatever (size) he is, the heart’s the same. The smaller guy’s heart might be bigger, so when you get out on the field you always have to check somebody’s temperature, I like to say, to see what he can and can’t do. If you’re overpowering them and smell blood you’ve got to keep going. Regardless of who it is, big, small, everybody blinks, everybody flinches and you can’t miss this opportunity.

Neutralizing Patriots’ tight end Rob Gronkowski and putting the kibosh on the Patriots running game that laid over 200 rushing yards on the Colts in their in their last meeting are musts for a Colts’ chance of victory. Having a better shot at defending against the Patriots, the Colts have defensive tackle Arthur Jones back from injury.
