After watching the Cleveland Browns go through five different starting quarterbacks, general manager Andrew Berry is making sure the QB depth chart is much deeper in 2024. Deshaun Watson is still entrenched as the starting quarterback, but instead of being joined by inexperienced backups like Dorian Thompson-Robinson, P.J. Walker, and Jeff Driskel, the Browns are bringing in more veterans after watching Joe Flacco sign with Indianapolis.

The first addition to the Browns’ QB room was Jameis Winston, who signed a one-year, $4 million contract. But now the former No. 1 overall pick is being joined by another Pro Bowl QB.

According to Browns insider May Kay Cabot, Cleveland is signing former Ravens QB Tyler Huntley. The terms of the agreement have yet to be revealed.

Huntley has made just nine starts in his four-year career. Yet, thanks to how easily Pro Bowl voting can be manipulated, the former Ravens QB snuck in as an alternate in 2022 after Lamar Jackson’s injury.

Yet, this addition comes as a mild surprise for Cleveland, considering they just made DTR the 140th pick in last year’s NFL Draft. However, after seeing how many quarterbacks were forced into action last season, we can’t really blame the Browns for wanting to have one of the deepest depth charts in the NFL.

With three Pro Bowl QBs on the roster, plus another developmental option, it appears the Browns are all set at the position heading into the 2024 season.
