Canadian goalkeeper Milan Borjan will sit out the rest of the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament with an undisclosed injury.

Borjan played in both of Canada’s Group D games so far, including a 0-0 draw with Guatemala on Saturday in Houston. The 35-year-old was also in net for a 2-2 draw on June 27 against Guadeloupe in Toronto.

Canada Soccer announced hat Borjan, who is also the team captain, has returned to Europe for treatment and rehab. No details of the injury were provided.

Canada has two points in the tournament and must win its Group D finale on Tuesday against Cuba in Houston to have a chance of reaching the quarterfinals.

Borjan is Canada’s all-time leader in matches by a goaltender with 77. His 35 shutouts are also a national record. Borjan played six seasons for Serbia’s Red Star Belgrade before being loaned last month to Slovakian club Slovan Bratislava.
