In what has to be considered a shocking turn of events, Denver Broncos rookie first-round pick Garett Bolles will be active for the team’s game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
Bolles was carted off the field in last week’s blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys with an ankle injury. Initially, at least, it looked like the injury might have been a season ender.
This is absolutely huge news for young quarterback Trevor Siemian as he looks to build off a strong start to the season. Despite being a rookie, Bolles is being tasked with protecting the quarterback’s blindside.
Losing him for any period of time would have been a major problem for Denver, especially considering Siemian has been sacked six times in two games.
