Bill Belichick on staying motivated: Coaching ‘doesn’t feel like work’

Bill Belichick

Bill Belichick has been coaching the New England Patriots since 2000. And, the team has been tremendously successful during this 17-season stretch. A seventh Super Bowl appearance is something most NFL coaches never experience.

Obviously, it takes an unbelievable amount of work to get to the postseason as often as New England does. But, Belichick’s outlook about his daily grind is a bit different from what we might think.

Belichick has the luxury of coaching one of the greatest quarterbacks the NFL has ever produced. This is a a huge benefit to his cause, especially compared to other head coaches who constantly deal with a revolving door of quarterbacks.

For now, and as long as Tom Brady is still around, it would appear that Belichick’s job will remain easy. We are not sure when Tom Terrific will ever retire. But, the Patriots certainly have a good thing going, which makes Belichick’s life just a bit nicer.
