With the NBA on hiatus for the All-Star break and no football to speak of, college basketball took center stage this weekend.
Most of the action took place on Saturday with each of the top-four teams in the nation coming out on top against less-than-stellar competition.
While the statistical highlight of the weekend might have been Jahlil Okafor’s 23-point, 13-rebound performance in Duke’s win over Syracuse, one specific play stood out around the nation.
UCLA guard Norman Powell threw down a massive dunk in the Bruins nine-point victory over Oregon.
On the other end of the spectrum, Arizona sophomore Rondae Hollis-Jefferson completely wiped out in an attempt at a breakaway dunk in the team’s 86-62 win over Washington.
So there you have it. Two plays—one amazing and the other one embarrassing—highlighting this weekend’s college basketball action.
