The Los Angeles Angels transferred right-hander Michael Lorenzen to the 60-day injured list on Saturday.

The 30-year-old right-hander landed on the 15-day IL on July 7 (retroactive to July 4) with a right shoulder strain.

The Angels also selected the contract of right-hander Mike Mayers after optioning right-hander Janson Junk to Triple-A Salt Lake following Friday night’s game.

Mayers, 30, is 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA in 15 relief appearances with the Angels this season. Junk, 26, is 1-1 with a 6.48 ERA in three games (two starts).

The team also appointed right-hander Oliver Ortega as the 27th man for Saturday’s doubleheader at Seattle. The 25-year-old is 1-3 with a 3.82 ERA in 26 games out of the L.A. bullpen this season.
