A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart lead early All-Star voting

Former league MVPs A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces and Breanna Stewart of the Seattle Storm are the early leaders in the voting for the 2022 WNBA All-Star Game.

After the first round of fan returns, Wilson has 21,688 votes and Stewart has 20,866.

The showcase is scheduled for July 10 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. The 10 All-Star starters will be revealed on June 22 and the reserves will be announced on June 28. The two captains – the two starters who receive the most fan votes – will draft their respective teams on July 2.

Wilson, the league’s MVP in 2020 and a three-time All-Star, is averaging 16.1 points and 9.8 rebounds through 12 games this season.

Stewart, the MVP in 2018 and also a three-time All-Star, is averaging 20.2 points and 7.0 rebounds in nine games.

Rounding out the top-five vote-getters are Candace Parker of the Chicago Sky (17,475), Kelsey Plum of the Aces (17,158) and Elena Delle Donne of the Washington Mystics (13,626).
