Yankees star Aaron Judge swinging bat, progressing toward return

New York Yankees star Aaron Judge remains sidelined with an oblique injury. But on Monday, he made a big step towards his return.

Manager Aaron Boone noted that in addition to taking dry swings, Judge hit off of a tee on Monday.

This came only one day after Judge had said that he was hoping to swing a bat soon. So, while no return date has been set, this is a huge step in the right direction.

Boone touted the progress of his star outfielder. The manager said (per Sweeny Murti, WFAN) “It’s been slow and steady but it has been steady…He’s responded to everything. Feel like he’s in pretty good place right now as he really starts to ramp up baseball activities.”

Judge has been sidelined for more than a month with the oblique injury. Prior to his injury, he was hitting .288/.404/.521 with five home runs.
