Alex Cora shares funny story about ‘advice’ he gave Bruins coach

Coaching in his first Stanley Cup Finals, Boston Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy turned to Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora for advice on getting through a championship series.

Apparently, he didn’t get much.

Cora shared a story about Cassidy calling him. While the Red Sox skipper was encouraging, he made it known that hockey is not a strength.

Cora would be a natural person to talk to about how to get through a championship series. He managed the Red Sox to a World Series win in 2018 and was the bench coach for the Houston Astros when they won the World Series in 2017.

Despite that, we can’t exactly argue with Cora here. Hockey isn’t exactly played a lot anywhere in the Caribbean.

Also, “keep doing what you’re doing” works well. The Bruins got to the Stanley Cup Finals by way of a sweep in the Eastern Conference Finals. Boston is also up 1-0 in the Stanley Cup Finals.

So, much like Cora did with the Red Sox in 2018, Cassidy clearly has the ship pointed in the right direction.
