Lauren Cox cheers Baylor on from sidelines after suffering leg injury

Baylor’s Lauren Cox suffered a brutal left leg injury in the third quarter of Sunday’s NCAA Women’s National Championship Game and had to be wheeled off the court.

Despite being in obvious pain, she came back out onto the court wearing a big knee brace and donning crutches midway through the fourth quarter to cheer her teammates on. Truly, that’s the mark of a leader. It’s no wonder Cox is such an inspirational figure for the Baylor Bears.

And her arrival couldn’t have been more timely. When Cox left, Baylor had a comfortable lead.

Despite her pain, Cox was even hopping on one foot to get into the huddle with her Baylor teammates.

By the time she came back, Notre Dame had tied the game up and the Bears needed a jolt of energy after having watched her leave the floor in such agony to begin with.
