The Green Bay Packers have been looking at young quarterbacks ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft, but Josh Rosen apparently isn’t on the radar whatsoever.
Green Bay is hosting Drew Lock and wanted to bring in Daniel Jones, too (a scheduling conflict arose). So, clearly, they’re interested in bringing in a young passer who could eventually replace Aaron Rodgers.
However, as Michael Silver of NFL Network reported Wednesday, the Packers “have no interest in trading for Josh Rosen.”
Given what we’ve heard recently about the Arizona Cardinals being content to keep Rosen even if Kyler Murray is drafted unless they get blown away by an offer, this makes sense.
The Packers have a couple of first-round picks (No. 12 and No. 30) and appear to have a championship-caliber roster.
It does behoove general manager Brian Gutekunst to find Rodgers’ successor this year. However, the Packers are likely more interested in adding instant-impact rookies in the first round than trading one of those picks away for another team’s cast-off.
