NCAA gets destroyed over dumb gambling announcement

Say what you will about the NCAA. But when it comes to getting an unintentional laugh out of people, this institution is the best.

Case in point, during Round of 64 action on Thursday, the NCAA decided to put this absolute beauty of a message (posted by Louisville radio host Mark Ennis on Twitter) on the scoreboard at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Yes, this is real. And for multiple reasons, it’s absolutely glorious.

One, this is a rough estimate that might be off by a few on either side. But approximately 150 billion offices in the world have pools of some sort. Some may technically be illegal, but so is driving 66 in a 65 mph zone.

People on Twitter definitely took notice.

But of course, the presence of pools doesn’t mean that the NCAA supports them…right? Well, that’s technically possible. But it’s not the case.

As one Tweeter noted, the NCAA fully embraces bracketology.

It may be shocking to learn that the NCAA is not a completely altruistic organization. But better to find out from a friend.

Good effort, NCAA. We thank you for the laugh.
