We can already hear Philadelphia 76ers fans blame Ben Simmons latest better half — Kendall Jenner — for their downfall should the team fail to win the NBA title this season.
Simmons and one of the most popular members of the Kardashian clan have been dating for some time now. As as we saw with Cleveland Cavaliers big man Tristan Thompson, there’s this narrative out there that concludes the Kardashian family is somehow the sports equivalent of a curse.
In talking with TMZ Sports just recently, Sixers owner Michael Rubin attempted to debunk said theory.
“13-2 since they’ve been dating,” Rubin said. Given that Simmons and Jenner have been on and off for the past calendar year, we’re not too sure if the math adds up. Even then, Philadelphia is actually 11-4 in its past 15 games.
Jenner has been more noticeable sitting courtside at Sixers games recently — a clear indication that things might be heating up between the former NBA Rookie of the Year and the reality television show.
In any event, the two appear happy. Rubin himself isn’t worried. All seems to be fine in Philly right now. Good on them.
