If we were wondering what former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy is up to after being fired by the team months ago, we don’t have to look much further than basketball.
According to Fox 11 News in Wisconsin, McCarthy was involved in an incident at his stepson’s high school basketball game
The Pulaski School District confirms that the incident surrounded McCarthy and officials calling the game after Pulaski High School defeated Notre Dame Academy.
“McCarthy has been a regular face in the stands at Notre Dame Academy’s basketball games this season, however, his actions after the tight loss at Pulaski crossed a line, according to people at the game,” the report read.
McCarthy reportedly started to berate officials after his stepson and Notre Dame Academy lost by one point to Pulaski. Apparently, the actions of McCarthy were not on par with expectations of the school district.
“This parent chose to follow the officials and berate them, which is clearly unacceptable,” Pulaski Athletic director Janel Batten said. “Some things were said, some language was used that we don’t want in our gym, unsportsmanlike language.”
Video evidence shows the officials being escorted out of the gym while being followed by a man that has since been confirmed to be Mr. McCarthy.
A complaint has been filed against McCarthy — claiming abuse against contest officials.
McCarthy coached the Packers from 2006-18, leading the team to one Super Bowl title and nine playoff appearances.
