ESPN analyst: Tua Tagovailoa combination of Michael Vick and Steve Young

As everyone prepares for the College Football Playoff National Championship, they can’t help but talk about Alabama Crimson Tide’s star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. In fact, ESPN analyst Jim Mora Jr. went as far as to compare Tagovailoa to two NFL greats.

Speaking on a panel on ESPN, Mora Jr. said Tagovailoa reminds him of a combination of Hall of Famer Steve Young and iconic quarterback Michael Vick.

Mora Jr. said Tua’s athleticism, release and set-up was like that of Vick. Meanwhile, he believes the sophomore quarterback has Young’s incredible accuracy.

Mora Jr. worked with the San Francisco 49ers from 1997-2003 and recounted how Young would go through entire practices with the ball never hitting the ground.

Vick was the greatest athlete we’ve seen at the quarterback position until Lamar Jackson. While Tagovailoa has been phenomenal, putting the sophomore in Vick’s class of athleticism and Young’s pinpoint accuracy is extreme.
