The rise of Patrick Mahomes, who is thriving in Andy Reid’s system this season, has caught everyone’s attention — including former Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant.
As Mahomes and his Kansas City Chiefs took on the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night, Bryant took to Twitter comparing the Mahomes/Reid combination to a couple of all-time greats.
Call me crazy..I think @PatrickMahomes5 and Andy Reid can have that Brady, Belichick Payton,Brees affect on the game
My opinion

Then Bryant went on to explain a bit more why the combination is working out so well.
I think it’s quite clear Reid knew exactly what he was looking after letting go a QB that was going to guarantee you a spot in the playoffs… Reid style and Texas tech is similar… like I said they have a chance .. I can see it https://t.co/BNXq357Vic

Ultimately, Mahomes and the Chiefs fell just short, losing at the last moment to the Chargers thanks to a couple of unbelievable plays by Philip Rivers and Mike Williams.
However, Mahomes has been nothing short of spectacular this year, his first as a starter in the NFL. He’s broken multiple NFL records and appears to have the game to challenge many of the all-time marks if he can stay healthy and have a long career.
