LOOK: Cowboys star absolutely shades Ohio State, Urban Meyer

Jourdan Lewis

Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer was put on paid administrative leave by the program on Wednesday as it investigates his involvement in a growing scandal.

Needless to say, one of the most recognizable names in college football temporarily stepping away from his job as the head coach of a national powerhouse is a pretty big deal.

It also didn’t take much time for friends and foes alike to give their takes on the situation in Columbus. Apparently, that includes former Michigan cornerback and current Dallas Cowboys star Jourdan Lewis.

There’s no reason to read between the lines. Lewis legitimately mentioned the official Ohio State football program on Twitter. That’s taking shade to an entirely new level.

Lewis, a third-round pick of the Cowboys last year, starred for the Wolverines from 2013-16. During that span, the Maze in Blue failed to defeat Meyer’s Buckeyes in four attempts. Yeah, there’s likely some pent-up frustration on Lewis’ part.

One now has to wonder how the next practice session between Lewis and teammate Ezekiel Elliott — an Ohio State product — will go.

As it relates to Meyer, it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise if he isn’t long for the Buckeyes’ job. This scandal has taken on a whole life of its own, and there’s going to be further consequences.
