WATCH: Ethiopian runner tried pantsing opponent, falls down instead

During the 5000m race that took place during the Diamond League track and field event in Lausanne, Switzerland, a sequence of events took place that really belongs in an old Marx Brothers movie.

Right near the end of the long-distance race, Ethiopian runner Selemon Barega accidentally tripped Yomif Kejelcha, who in return nearly pulled his countryman to the ground…by his pants.

Instead of executing that ill-conceived notion of retaliation, however, Kejelcha ended up falling down.

As a result of the mayhem, Birhanu Balew sailed through the fighting to take the win in 13:01.09.
