Another potential twist in the domestic violence case against Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy has come to light.
According to a police report, shared by Mike Rodak of ESPN, McCoy’s mother, Daphne McCoy, reportedly told police that her son told Delicia Cordon, the alleged victim of the assault, that she could remain in the home until its sale.
“McCoy’s mother, Daphne McCoy, told police during the June 1 visit she was moving her son’s items out of the home while he was participating in organized team activities with the Bills so that he did “not have to deal with Delicia.” Police told Daphne McCoy that she could remove her son’s personal items but he would have to go to civil court to have any other items, including furniture, removed. … Daphne McCoy also told police June 1 that her son told Cordon she could stay in the home until it was sold because she had two small children.”
The last note is relevant because, according to a statement from Cordon’s attorney, McCoy was trying to evict her from the house in question. Obviously, if this is accurate, it doesn’t portray McCoy in a good light. Whether he had anything to do with her assault, however, remains to be seen.
McCoy has denied being a part of the attack on Cordon. The police have also issued a statement on the matter.
Certainly, expect a lot more to come from this in the coming days, weeks, and months.
