Eagles will wear home jerseys in New Orleans because Sean Payton lost golf bet to Doug Pederson

NFL head coaches

The New Orleans Saints won’t be wearing home uniforms when they host the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11 of the coming NFL season.

Instead, Philly will proudly be wearing their traditional green home uniform, thanks to a bet made between the two head coaches, Sean Payton and Doug Pederson.

A bet that Payton obviously lost.

“There’s a good chance it involved me being in the water,” said Payton, who also lost a bet that required him to send a sampling of New Orleans food to the Eagles’ coaching staff, per ESPN’s Mike Triplett.

Payton also quipped, “Hey, if I’d have kept playing, he’d have been in our locker room,” per Triplett.

The Eagles are on quite a winning streak right now, having closed out the 2017 season with a Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots.

On a related note, maybe opposing coaches should avoid any bets with Pederson, at least for the time being.
