Andriese has made 27 appearances for the Rays in 2018, with all but four coming out of the bullpen. He’s likely to assume the same role with Arizona.
Overall, he’s posted a 4.07 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and an 8.9 K/9 rate.
The acquisition of Perez likely frees Tampa up to trade All-Star catcher Wilson Ramos. While Perez has yet to reach the majors, he’s put up a solid .284/.342/.417 slash line with six home runs for Triple-A Reno in 2018.
