Report: Rockets preparing to make ‘aggressive’ push for Paul George

Paul George

Paul George is one of the hottest upcoming NBA free agents as we look ahead to the 2018 summer months, and the Houston Rockets have long been bandied about as one of the teams that will push hardest to land him.

Heck, even going back to last summer, Houston was hot to trot for George.

So it comes as no surprise that ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting the Rockets are preparing to make an “aggressive” push to sign George in free agency this coming offseason (h/t Brett Dawson of the Oklahoman).

We know that the Rockets have a general manager that is obsessed with beating the Golden State Warriors. So it’s hardly shocking to hear that Houston is still intent on adding top talent, having come within one game of beating Golden State in the Western Conference Finals.

That said, Houston still has to find a way to keep Chris Paul in the fold. He’s arguably their most important priority and likely isn’t going to take a discount to stick around.

Furthermore, the Rockets will obviously have some stiff competition concerning George, who could be joining up with LeBron James in another big NBA city that is known for championships.
