J.J. Hickson arrested on armed robbery charges

Former NBA player J.J. Hickson was arrested on Friday and charged with armed robbery for an alleged involvement in a home invasion.

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, Hickson was arrested and booked into Coweta County Jail on Friday night for suspected involvement in a “frightening” home invasion earlier in the day.

“The victim was beat up pretty good and they took some personal items from the residence and at that point in time through the help of a canvass we were able to identify a suspect and a suspect vehicle,” said Captain John Kennedy, Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, via Fox 5 Atlanta. “We were able to identify a suspect from that.”

An Atlanta native, the 29-year-old faces charges of armed robbery in a home invasion and is expected to face a judge on Saturday.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Hickson allegedly used a knife during the home invasion. He is currently being held without bond.

He last played in the NBA during the 2015-16 season for the Washington Wizards. A first-round draft pick in 2009, Hickson played with five teams across eight seasons in the NBA.
