Bucks reportedly looking to move Matthew Dellavedova on draft night

David Griffin is leaving the Cavaliers

Picking 17th overall on Thursday night, the Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly looking to use that pick to move Matthew Dellavedova’s bloated contract.

According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, Milwaukee is interested in moving said pick in a trade-down scenario that includes unloading itself of Dellavedova’s contract.

“The Bucks are pursuing trades using the no. 17 pick to dump point guard Matthew Dellavedova, who has two years and $19.2 million remaining on his contract,” O’Connor reported.

It’s not yet known whether the Bucks would simply have to trade the pick without any further compensation in order to move the overpaid guard.

Dellavedova, 27, averaged just 4.3 points and 3.8 assists for the Bucks last season. He pretty much fell out of the rotation for a contending team last season.
