Wizards’ Otto Porter Jr. to undergo leg surgery, will miss Game 6

In some stunning information around the NBA world, the Washington Wizards will be without forward Otto Porter Jr. for Friday’s Game 6 outing against the Toronto Raptors.

According to Candace Buckner of the Washington Post, Porter will undergo leg surgery “to address a build up of blood flow in the area of his (leg) contusion.” He’ll miss the remainder of the series.

Porter has been dealing with the leg injury for some time now. It’s clearly impacted him thus far in this competitive series. The former No. 3 overall pick was averaging 10.0 points on 42 percent shooting from distance in the series.

Washington finds itself down 3-2 heading into Friday’s Game 6 outing in D.C. Even if the team is able to extend it to Game 7, Porter will not be on the court. Expect Kelly Oubre Jr. to take on a larger role moving forward.
